New home landscaping

This house has long low lines. It sits on a bare hill surrounded only by grass. This design helps to integrate the house into the landscape. Taller plants like Pagoda dogwood, Serviceberry and Lantana viburnum were used to soften the hard angular corners of the house and partition the long two dimensional facade into smaller components. Winterberry and Summersweet were planted along the long straight sidewalk to define the entryway and create an inviting entrance to the front door. All grass between the sidewalk and the house was eliminated and filled with an assortment of low perennials and flowering shrubs covering the space with color and texture.
